Ford Privilege - getting the best deal

Hi helpful people,

I have a Ford Privilege voucher.

How do i make this go as far as possible? Do i tell the car dealer upfront or do i negotiate the best price first? Are there any negotiation tactics i should employ? Never bought a car from a dealer before.

I am looking at a Ford Fiesta but i'm torn between a Zetec and Titanium due to the price difference, any help here would also be appreciated by Fiesta owners ;)

Thanks,
Ryan

You should get £1,250 off the list price of a Fiesta + it looks like you get free metallic paint.

Go for the 100hp ecoboost its the best engine and £0 tax

List price is around £14000 for the Zetec and £15800 for the Titanium (I went for Titanium for the Climate control over the standard a/c)

+ take finance (even if you pay it off after a month gets you another £1,375 Deposit Allowance + currently Until 30 September 2015, the Fiesta is available with £500 Ford Customer Saving

Just go in to a Ford dealer tell them your Privilege and haggle like you would for any car best if you go just before the plate change but as that's next week your probably too late - although I bought mine in 2 days as they had one sitting ready to go

I ended up paying £13000 for a Titanium / 100 ecoboost with metallic.

Don't forget with the Privilege you also get discounts off servicing.
  • Thanks for the replies!

I was tempted by the ST but i think it's probably too expensive for what i use... zetec s any good?

I will be taking the finance as i don't have a lump sum to pay it all now and would like to swap it every year or so if it's worth it.

I went in yesterday to test drive a titanium and get a quote, it was £177 a month for 3 years PCP but i've seen it much cheaper online after a quick google.

Yep, free metallic paint and 20% off optional extras i was told.

I was thinking of brining the adverts showing the deals at other places with me or is that weird?

Zetec is good - Titanium is better if you can afford it (auto lights/wipers better stereo)
  • Yeah i'll see what i can knock them down to for the Titatnium.

Is it worth me ringing round dealers to see if they can beat my best offer?

Which engine size do you haev? i kind of want the 125PS 1L as i'm currently drivign a 2l!

I've got the 100 - 125 is better of course - what did you test drive?
    if you want sporty don't forget the Zetec S RED/BLACK 140hp 9-second 0-62 mph

I don't think dealers will offer over the phone - you need to visit,
  • Yeah, thought as much so they can feed me their lies :rotfl:

I test drove the 100, it felt alright but i didn't really get to put my foot down.

The Zetec S is nice but pricier again!

You need to rev it - drive it like an Italian and its fab.

    Clarkson's verdict ★★★★★

Buy a Bentley for show but drive this beauty
  • Right, i think i'm going to go for the Titanium 5 door with 100PS 1.0 ecoboost.

The best deal i could get from the second dealer i visited was £168.80 a month for 36 months and £200 deposit PCP. £12075 OTR privilege price.

    What do you guys think?
