Close a BT account to get offers?

Hi
New to this forum, so I hope someone can help me? I am trying to find out if I can close my BT account, then immediately re-open a brand new account in another name (that of another person living in the house) as a way to take advantage of the deals and vouchers currently offered to ‘New Customers ONLY’.
Does anyone know if this will work? Any advice, greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

One poster said it could be done .No feedback from the identical question you ask .

Queries to this same question where .
Will cease and new supply charges be applied probably .= £30
Will the new user get a new telephone number ??
Are you out of contract with BT ??

Will you have to pay for a new modem .
As MAC no longer applies it might be worth phoning and asking what to do to leave in the hope they will make you an offer .

You can but its a pretty stupid thing to do.
If there is broadband you will have to pay a £30 cease charge (even if you are out of minimum term).
You will probably need to pay a £50 re connection charge for the phone.
You may also have to pay a connection charge for the BB.
You will lose your phone number.
There will be a period of about 2 weeks (if everything goes well) when you wont have any phone or BB.
If you live in a highly contested area (I do so i know what i am talking about) you may lose the E-side meaning you could be several months without any phone or BB.

So thats a minimum of £80 its going to cost you, you may not get the new customer deal anyway as these generally assume its a migration and not a new install (which you would be), you will b without service for 2 weeks to several months.
It would still be cheaper to simply migrate elsewhere (like Sky, PlusNet etc).

does it still sound like a good idea?
