Really attractive prices but beware...
When making my booking I knew that the service was that someone would pick my car up, do the service and then drop my car back. This being my first time I was reluctant to do this and offered to drive my car to the garage myself. The person I spoke to stated that I could wait at the garage no problem. I drove my car to the garage and got there at 8:50am. I know that a full service takes a couple of hours but was told that my car would not be ready until 4-5pm. I told the manager of the garage I could not wait that long and I was going to take my car elsewhere he stated that he could get the car done for 12-1pm and could drop me off somewhere and pick me up once done. Come 5:30pm my car was finally ready and when I called the garage they had no one to send me until 7pm. When I complained to the manager he stated that it was nothing to do with him and I should speak to Servicing stop. On ringing them and finally speaking to someone who could help me at 5:50pm I was told to either let a staff member from the garage drive my car to me and then I would have to drop him back to the garage or use public transport. When I explained to Servicing stop what the agreement I made with the garage manager they were not bothered that I was stranded with out my car. I would not recommend this service to anyone!!! Complete lack of communication, disappointed with customer service and feel very mislead as would I known this course of events would have happened I would have not left my car there. Once they had my car my options of getting it back were next to none and at their mercy.
By all means use if your low on money but loaded on time and dont mind being messed about and being fed bulls**t

When I take my car for a service to my local garage, it goes in for the day. Yes it may only take a couple of hours, but the garage is dealing with many customers and I'm just one of them.
I leave it to them to work out the logistics of how they want to move cars on and off ramps etc. I would imagine working out the sequences of what gets done when, fitting in with parts deliveries etc is not that trivial.0 -

How do you think people without cars manage every day?
Could you not have walked, got a bus or taxi to collect the car?0 -

OK, I won't use them. I'll do it myself, as I usually do - basic servicing ain't exactly rocket science.
If you're not happy with the service you've received, you're better off contacting the branch manager. If you get no joy, then Head Office. You're much more likely to get a response you like, rather than venting your spleen on a public website - helpful though this one is :-)0 -
When an agreement had been made for someone to come and collect me to take me back to my car why should I then pay for public transport or a taxi when Servicing Stop as part of their service is to have someone pick up and drop off your car?
When the system doesnt work they are not bothered and expect you to but your hand in your pocket again.0 -
Yes but you didn't use the pick up drop off service do you. You opted to take the car to the garage and then allowed them to take you somewhere away from your car. Did you really expect them to take your keys when you turned up at 08.50 and service it straight away.
I have never had a garage do that for me. They have other customers and a plan of action and don't expect someone to come mess that up for them.0 -
Servicing Stop work on the principle that they pick up your car in the morning and return it in the evening. They make it obvious on their website that they return your car between 4 and 6 pm. You tried to bend the rules to suit yourself, it didn't work out, so you are now whinging. Either use the service as advertised or don't use it at all. You have only yourself to blame.0

My local dealership will come and collect my car and bring it back from wherever I say - home or work - they need a 3 hour time slot for doing that.
If I choose to go there and wait, I select the time I arrive.
By the time I have settled down with my first cappuccino and croissant to watch TV or read a magazine, the car is in the workshop with at least 3 technicians on it.
Sometimes as many as 5 are doing different things - I can see all that is happening through a large window onto the workshop floor.
The maximum I've ever had to wait has been an hour and a half.
My car has Condition Based Servicing and has been to the dealers a total of 5 times in 2 years for which I paid £405 when I bought the car. There are never any extra costs.
I have just checked the Servicing Stop web site and they would have charged me £455.82 for the amount and type of services I have received over the last 2 years. So much for their 37% off advert, and 'Attractive Prices'.
You pays your money and takes your choice as they say.0 -
Their site saysYour car service will be done by an approved Servicing Stop garage. We will also check the manufacturer service schedule, making sure if necessary any additional items are advised. We only use GENUINE car parts of O.E. (Original Equipment) standard, making sure your warranty is protected.
My car is not serviced that way. I don't see how it can possibly protect a warranty.
Ah! unless variations in the service schedule are covered byIf there is any additional work required, one of our advisors will always seek prior authorisation from you before any work is done. The work is only carried out if you agree to the additional cost and work.
which makes a mockery of the originally quoted price.0 -
