Utility company Subject Access Request: where to send?

I want to make a subject access request to Southern Electric - SSE. Rang twice to get address as couldn't see it on their site. First time told that any such request would have to go through them (I found myself speaking to collections). They would email the relevant internal department who would then write to me telling me where I should send my £10.00 cheque. Therefore any further communication through SSE - but not this 'internal department'.

Thought that sounded odd so rang again only to be given an email address (and the option of requesting this in the way that the first advisor described) and to be told, as I asked, that there was no postal address. Pity anyone without an email address.

The address I was given was info.requests@sse.com

Can't be certain it's for SARs, though.

Can anyone cast light on this? How can I make a request and speedily? Thank you.
