Asking for NI # on opening account

Cheers
I opened my 2 bank accounts with Barclays & Lloyds around 4 years ago, Barclays asked for my National Insurance number, Lloyds didn't. Does anyone know another bank or banks or building society that doesn't ask for a NI number when you join?

What is your concern about being asked your NI number? Just because they dont ask doesnt mean they dont do any reporting to HMRC (nor the fact they do ask automatically means they do)0

As virtually all banks do automatic exchange of information (AEOI) under the EUSD, then virtually all banks report income to the HRMC under this anyway.0

You will need to provide a NI number to open an ISA.
As others have asked what's the problem with providing the info?
Saw a documentary on C5 last week about benefit fraud - some people are easily led to ''provide'' banking facility to fraudsters for a cut of the money - DWP payments quote NI numbers so the bank could check if any payments belong to you.
Nothing wrong with this is there?0
