Renewing Drivers licence online

I am having trouble replacing or renewing my licence, can someone help please.
I have mislaid my Drivers licence which expires December 2016.
I have attempted to replace/renew it on line, But DVLA site, says it does not recognise my basic details,(name, address, DoB, time lived at present address) licence no., which I know are correct.
I have contact the help line twice who confirmed that the details are correct and to leave the licence details blank, when I tried to do this the box kept flashing red, so I could not bypass this step.
I do need to get a replacement card. Am I doing something wrong or have other people had the same problem as me.
I would prefer to use the online service as I thought it would be quicker, and less hassle.

I just wen through the process. At what point does it not like your time at your addresses? Is it when you type it in or when you hit next?0

I know it was ok, as I used it twice a couple of years ago. There is also a con site, but I reported it to the bank and got a refund.

Can you check your licence using your driver number, NI number and postcode. This should show what details are on your license.

I checked a friends licence recently without the driver number and found the details need to be exact.0 -

I checked my licence as suggested, and found DVLA missed a letter off my surname, mystery solved.
MSE forum has answered my question, DVLA could not. THANK YOU!!!

Try phoning them. Logic suggests they could use your passport details if it is recent enough as they do with the photograph but they will tell you what to do.0
