I have purchased new carbon brushes to replace the worn ones on my Black and Decker GT 501 Hedge trimmer. However I am having a problem fitting the new brushes. The instruction manual does not help. Where can I find the information or diagram of how to fit.

Is there anything in this video (I only watched a few seconds to make sure it actually is about hedge trimmers) that might help?

Unplug from mains. Assuming the screws are not coded but are either allen (hex) or star drive, remove all screws and teaze apart casing at switch/motor end. Follow the cable from the switch towards the motor and you will see the brushes (well actually you won't) contained within a couple of slides, pull off the connectors and, having looked all over the brush socket for a spring release pin, just ignore it and pull the old brushes out with a pair of pliers. Reassemble in reverse order.0
