These news may appear sensational but don't tell the full story.

I like to see whether she is still living on train after a year. :)
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Her monthly season ticket allows her to board any train in Germany and costs £240, slightly less than the £290 she paid in rent at her last flat.
Britain is such a rip off

The novelty will soon wear off.

The story says she washes her hair in one of the bathrooms in the carriages. Right..............and where does she wash the rest of her?

If she doesn't bother, at least she's guaranteed to have a vacant seat next to her at all times.

Read other articles. She stays with her mum or boyfriend overnight. She doesn't "live" on the train she just commutes a lot. She's not going to save money by not having an ability to cook. Stations do have showers so she can wash herself properly every now and again. I'm not sure if Germany charge for the use of the showers as many stations in the UK do.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Exactly, she doesn't live on the train at all. It says in one article I read that she can't sleep on the train for fear of losing her stuff. For me, where you sleep is a bit part of saying where you live.
  • I went looking for her blog to read about this - but it looks as if its only in German.

She did say she tries to sleep on the train sometimes and that's the bit that would worry me most (particularly in her case - ie being a young attractive woman).

Are the days of student interrail really past?

I remember spending two months one summer, and one the next, Thomas Cook timetable well-thumbed, catching the sleeper from Sweden to Italy, Italy to Spain, Spain to Germany... Holland had some of the best showers (which we did use). Best cheap booze at Ventimiglia, head for Sicily if the weather was cold for the weekend. We even managed to (accidently) cross from West Berlin, into East Germany and on toward Poland... with no visa, and little cash. Oh, and share a sandwich with the-then US Ambassador to Greece in First Class (he took pity on us and our hunger, but did like my friend's excellent architectural drawings)... memories, memories...

The two months were with a friend, and we slept on the trains for the entire time. Used up five Interrail books for the travel stamps over those two months. The one month was with dearest wifey, and we did use B&B. Twice. She's game. Well, she certainly was at the end of that month.

It's a constructed promotional piece for some furren bint's blog.

She doesn't live on the train, she just uses it a lot of the time to travel between her parents, grandparents, boyfriend's, friends homes where she dosses down.

Another cheap/nonsense promo piece by the DM.
