Fensa query

Hi all
We are very near exchange of contracts but our buyers solicitors have pulled us up on our Double glazing. Our Fensa certificate shows a year earlier date then the date our windows were actually installed? Also the guarantee they supplied shows 10 windows instead of 8 that was done and the Fensa certificate shows 10?
Additionally the guarantee hasn't got a date.

The company are not being very helpful at all, and was wondering if this would hold up exchange?

Comments

  • Sorry the Fensa certificate shows 8 windows and guarantee shows 10.

The company being unhelpful will not hold up exchange. Your vendors, their solicitor or their mortgage provider paying too much regard to a rather worthless piece of paper called a Fensa certificate could do.

I always feel sorry for all the millions of houseowners whose windows were installed prior to the Fensa certification scheme. Clearly these windows will all fall out any day soon!

Did you have them done? Did you keep the original paperwork?

Are you sure it's not some detail error, eg a set of French doors which has a window either side counting a three instead of one??
