    At 18p a mile you are subsidising your employer from the wages they pay.
    I do Contracts, all day every day.

    As you get a car allowance you will be capped at the various fuel rates that HMRC allows. To say you will get 45p a mile is wrong. That is where you use your own car AND dot get an allowance. You need to read the rules carefully. Why would your employer pay 18p a mile when the rates for a small petrol are only 12p, as an example??? I would say that your employer is doing it wrong if thats the case.
