First Family Holiday

My wife and I are looking at booking our first family holiday together with our 2 daughters aged 3 years & 18 months.

I think we have decided on going Menorca but just wondered what people thought and if anyone has any recommendations on where to stay etc?

What sort of price would we be looking at for 7 or 10 nights all inclusive? Has anyone managed to get any bargains?

Menorca is a lovely place to stay & very family orientated. If your second child is under 2 years when you travel, you will just pay a standard infant charge for her but she will not get an aircraft seat, she will have to sit on your lap. Very difficult to price without a date. School holidays are going to be the most expensive so I would avoid them especially as your kids are not school age yet. You are probably best to get hold of a couple of brochures to get an idea of hotels etc. Watch the transfer times from the airport, some can be up to a couple of hours . Good Luck

If you can go out of school term dates then yes, you should be able to get it cheaper. I've stayed at the Viva Menorca in Cala en Bosch which was ok. It's a 4 star hotel and about 10 minute walk from the centre. There is a few little shops nearby (nothing fancy - mini supermarket) but do offer the all inclusive option. Cuitadella is a 20 minute or so bus trip and is a pretty town with a park right next to where the buses stop.

Not visited any of the other resorts but travelled with Jet2Holidays and didn't have any problems. Worth a wee look

Hi i've not read any replies yet but just wanted to say we went to Menorca this year for our first family holiday. Our children were 8 and 5 and we had an amazing time. We went all inclusive (so we knew there were no surprises price wise whilst there as a family and i was so scared of running out of money!) we also hired a car for 3 days and explored, it was amazing. The beaches over there were fantastic.

We stayed at Hotel Victoria Playa, Santa Thomas, which is only a 3 star but we had an amazing time with amazing food and drink and loved it all. ours was around £1500 in june. Menorca is fantastic to drive round as it's so small, barely any traffic and lovely.

We would recommend it to anyone and would definitely return without a second doubt.
