Oh, it is beautiful, don't get me wrong, just rampant. Bramble is a burger to get rid of. Digging out will certainly help, but wop the new growth with glyphosate. You can do worse than dunking long shoots in a pot of the diluted stuff (wear gloves, not just for the thorns, or use pliers/pincers).
Sycamore stumps may grow from the root; stumpkiller may work, but so does time/an axe/walloping any growth with a spade. Self-seeded sycamore is a pain, but just pulling does them in, and so does hoeing.
With planning a bed like that, don't forget that you can initially plant the shrubs still in their pots. Then, when you do change your mind (and you will), it's easily done.
