I kept see this ad on the TV today, as we have had the history channel on and I though, how the heck can you have carbon neutral car insurance? So I went on there site and got a quote. All it does is take you details, goes through what ever process and finds the 'cheapest deal' then adds on an amount that goes to 'green' causes based on your annual mileage. Using green issues to boost you profits clever marketing but it ain't really any different to any other broker.

I think you have totally misunderstood this. Are you saying they pocket the money they charge you for 'green causes'?

What they do is calculate your carbon emmisions and the apply an 'eco charge' which is used to pay to have trees planted to offset your carbon footprint. How is that not any different to any other broker?

I didn't say they pocketed the money but it's just using the green baloney to make themselves look like heroes to get customers and no doubt charge more than other brokers for the same thing.
