:(In quandary on what action to take regarding our car which we're parting exchanging for new model. Hubby parked car in multi story car park & when returning to car he's noticed it's been damaged slightly. No dents but couple of minor scratches & small amount of black bumper showing. Don't know what to do for the best. Should we get Chips Away to deal with damage or just wait until we take car for MOT (to dealership) and show them the damage. Can't believe this has happened the same week we've arranged part exchange. Any advice most welcome.

It really depends on how much it will cost to repair VS how much it reduces the value for PX. Did the car have some minor scratches before or was it pristine. If they just add to the damage leave it. But if it's the only damage to an otherwise perfect paintwork then might be worth getting it done.0

More than likely the dealer that your part exchanging with will do a quick survey of the car if not done already, so i guess they wont look again, maybe your old car will be going to auction for sale so nothing will be done about the marks.0

NOPE DONT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE.
Tcut will make the scratch wider (i.e it will feather out the paint) in cases of paint being broken to plastic/metal.
Best case is to leave it or fill it with paint until it can be fully repaired.0 -
Just speak to the dealer when you go to PX. Chances are they will knock less off than it will cost to fix.0

If you read my post again, you might just notice that I'd highlighted the the bit about:black bumper showing.
OP also mentioned the scratches were minor (not deep scratches) so they may be just surface scratches which would polish out, but thanks for your input . . .0 -
Thank you all very much for advice & various tips. We've decided to leave well alone and show the damage to the dealer when we take car in for M.O.T. prior to collecting new car. Car is in very good condition and won't be going to auction. Thanks again.0
