FENSA certificate?

I'm selling my house in England.
Two years ago I had the glass in the porch replaced with double glazing and a new door fitted. I used a FENSA registered contracted. Should I have received a certificate? I've searched on the website but there are no results.

If you just replaced the glass (not the framework) in the porch then you don't need a Fensa Cert and regarding the door. If you just had the door replaced but kept the original door frame then again you don't need FENSA. The general rule is If you had a complete new door and frame then you would need a FENSA certificate.Helen231264 wrote: »I'm selling my house in England.

The porch probably won't require a certificate. The door probably will. Is the fitter FENSA registered? Chase him, and ask for the paperwork.0

Only if they replaced the frame at the same time, keep the existing frame and fit a new door and they wouldn't need FENSA .If they did replace the entire frame and door they may need FENSA but even then if the glazed area of the door is less than 10% (iirc) I don't think they would need FENSA .
This is the problem with the likes of Fensa, self certification schemes rely on the contractor to check their own work and issue a certificate... Waste of time imo..(very minor rant over)..:D0 -
Curiously of all the certificates expected the FENSA one I cared nothing about, as long as the glass was at spec. and there was an upstairs fire escape window I didnt care if they produced the cert.0

Thanks for the responses. Yes, the frames were replaced. The fitter is FENSA registered so I'll chase him for the paperwork.0

Yep, do. He hasn't done his bit if you can't find the certificate on the FENSA website. When we bought our house, the seller had lost their cert but we got a copy from that site for whatever admin fee they charge (about a tenner?). He needs to get your certificate on there for the benefit of future buyers/sellers.
I can't remember if you can search by fitter on the site, but you could nose at whether his other work has its certs on there - ie whether it was just a mistake and he forgot to do yours, or whether he's not registering anything (hopefully the former)...0 -
Couldn't agree more :Tleveller2911 wrote: »... Waste of time imo..(very minor rant over)..:D0
