PPI sold by 3rd party

I know it's against all the advice but I've enlisted the help of a claims handling company to assist with my mis-sold ppi claims. They took info of all previous lenders but wouldn't entertain a mortgage from The Mortgage Company ( now The Mortgage Company) as they said any ppi would have been sold by third party. Can anyone explain??

Any complaint about the sale of PPI must be directed to the seller. Your lender did not sell PPI. Therefore your complaint must be directed to whoever sold it (if indeed it ever existed).

Sales by mortgage brokers tend to have a very low success rate on complaints as most brokers have decent audit trails and MPPI itself already has a lower success rate than loan and credit card PPI. Also, most brokers were not regulated prior to Jan 2005.

It seems that you are attempting to put in complaints without actually knowing whether you had PPI or not. That is not a nice thing to do with mortgage brokers as they tend to be small local firms with 1-5 advisers who are personally responsible for the advice they give. By putting in fake complaints it isnt fair on the local firm who have to suffer the costs. On this occasion, credit to your CMC for not doing it.
