jsa 1st payment

Hello. I applied for jsa on the 13th of this month. 1st sign on the 20th. I was told that my claim had been processed. So when will I receive my first payment. I know you don't get anything for the 1st 7 days. But my next signing date is In two weeks time. Thanks in advance.

  • You should have some money within 3 working days of signing on.
Previously I've signed on a Wednesday before now and received JSA through on Monday so I think you can expect funds Tuesday?
  • Thanks. I just thought I would have to wait longer as it's was only day 7 when I 1st signed. And you don't get anything for the 1st 7 days.
  • Yeah I know, sorry bud you may only get just over £40.00ish this first time, it's going to be a piddly amount of the usual £73.10, I too was warned about the 7 days as my sign on for JSA was only a few months back so remember it well in a non Universal Credit area, definitely make sure your getting any other help, don't delay talking to creditors etc, 2 weeks time will soon be round again if any consolation, take care x
  • Thanks again. I had an interview on Friday and have a trial day next week to see if I like it. So hopefully will be signing off.

If you made your claim on the 13 and signed on the 20th that's a total of 8 days therefore you are currently due money for one day, you should get that paid tomorrow.

It used to be 3 days, now it's 7. What more petty harm can this government do?
