Standard construction house - concrete blocks, not red bricks

I would say from your description that your house is of a standard construction. However, I wouldn't risk a misunderstanding with an insurance company - tell them how it's made and let them tell you that they accept the 'risk'. You have to close off their wriggle room.Mornië utulië1

Why would you tick brick on a legal form when you know it is not
Because the correct option to tick wasn't listed and its the nearest...
Right "concrete masonry unit aka breezeblock/cavity wall/breezeblock" is what I am looking to tick. If its not there (and it probably wont be...) then try and find a place on one of these darn online forms to type in their missing option for them somewhere seems to be the way to go.
Failing that - then as so appropriately put "Don't give them any wriggle room" - and I will send them a letter/email requesting them to put those words there themselves on written quotation letter I require from them. That should cover me (and mean one or two further letters etc from me to them saying "I requested you to put those words - and you didn't. Please send me repeat letter with those words on" doubtless.....0 -
I seriously doubt any builder would waste time building a brick wall if they are going to render over the top of it.
Block-cavity-block-render is perfectly normal.
Hurray! Someone who knows what they are talking about.:T
When I extended my semi (built 1937 of rendered cavity blockwork throughout) I built both outer and inner leaves in lightweight Durox blocks. That was in 1987....hardly new technology, then or now.
The insurers will be open in the morning. Why not just wait and ask them to clarify this? If enough people enquired, they might design a better form.0 -

As I recall - you had to be either a Beatles gal or a Rolling Stones gal. It was Beatles for me...<whispers> "...and I liked the Monkees":o
Yes, well, we all know what the 'Rolling Stones girls' were like...
Like a Lambretta SX200, rare as chicken's teeth in '65, but a lot of fun if you could find one.....0 -

I remember my mom telling me The Beatles had broken up. Was only six at the time but judging by the totally depressed, shattered look on my mums face I knew it had to be something involving the death of an entire country or something.0
