You don't want or need this at the moment. You are falling into the trap of stressed house buying. Your seller is putting vague pressure on you and you are reacting the only way you think you can - with an ultimatum.we're already leaving the washing machine, tumble dryer, there is a built in cooker and hob and dishwasher, we're leaving the shed and storage box in the garden, all the light fittings, curtains, curtain poles, blinds and carpets. As well as a built in bed upstairs, I think they've had more than enough from us already. I've totally had enough I want to know one way or another, I want a date for exchange and a date to move and if I don't get both of those by Thursday of this week I think we'll pull out, they're obviously not worth the effort.
Why Thursday this week? Unless you have a real need for this date [which as far as I can see, you do not], it is just a stupid pointless ultimatum which magnifies the stress up and down the chain.
At the moment, you are stuck between your vendor and your buyer and you are largely powerless. An ultimatum will not make you any more powerful. The only thing you can do which will influence this positively is to get talking up and down the chain so that your vendor and your buyer can see how they are affecting each other.
Talk to your vendor. Find out what will work for them. Hopefully find a date which will still require them to move in with family and which will require your buyers to have a fortnight's overlap. And tell your buyers the date and that they need to buckle down because if they don't, the chain will get longer and they will have no influence on the date.well that was very good of you, we heard nothing until we went to give dates, and all of a sudden its we can only move on one day per calendar month, we are in a short chain, only three parties at the moment, however our sellers were going to move in with family to break the chain, they have now found a property and are talking of putting the chains together which means we'll go from 3 to possible 6 or more, and yet our buyers are still insisting on one day, bloody ridiculous to say I'm angry is an understatement and if the decision was mine alone I'd pull out and let them lose their money. We're all grown ups, there is enough information out there about the costs of moving etc, if they couldn't afford it they should never have started the process.0 -

If they are FTBs then they are probably really scrapping around for every penny, I know I was when I was an FTB. They might just be tight of course.
I'll soon be a FTB, but I'm not expecting other parties to pay my costs.
No, I've put my back into saving my money and providing myself a budget to cover such eventualities.
Isn't it better sense to reach the budget first and then buy... Not to simply hope that someone else will top you up?:www: Progress Report :www:
