Some of the things we love
The bread buns and baguettes - delicious
Their yoghurts - gorgeous and very good value for money
Their own biscuits , nicer than other own brands and half the price
Their fruit and veg - always lasts well
Store cupboard stuff like pass ate , tinned tomatoes , pasta , rice all good value
Kitchen towels , cling film , foil all good quality and good value
Their chocolate :j
Their meat is good too
We've swapped most of our shopping to there and saved a fortune over the last year . Some things you can't get there but I find I do about 80% in Lidl and where it used to take me a full hour to do our weekly shop in our giant Sainsburys I'm in and out of lidl in just over 30 minutes :j0 -
I recently converted from doing Tesco online shopping, to going to Lidl and have found that all this time, I have been paying silly money for products equal or less than in quality at Tesco.
Items I buy:
- bread
- strawberry jam (Maribel brand)
- free range eggs
- baguettes, croissants and muffins from their in store bakery
- sliced cheddar cheese, feta, yogurt (all their brand)
- semi skimmed milk
- kids yogurts- again Lidl versions
- all the fruit and veg
- Lidl version of Jaffa cakes, twix bars, Penguins, couldn't taste a difference between this and the brand really
- fresh juices (apple, orange, tropical), and their carton juices
- crisps, I think its called Snaktastic, taste just as good as Walkers
- W5 dishwasher tablets, sandwich bags, laundry gel
- vegetable oil, pasta, rice
Try it and see how you like it, I think it's fantastic0 -
Also remember to keep an eye on the weekend half price offers

The crisps that are on offer next weekend are good ( and less than 5p per packet ) and can stand up against things like Walkers. The chocolate is also okay for an own brand cheapo - and at only 17p per 100g well worth stocking up on.0 -
I love the packet meats, turkey is especially nice! Never had a problem with the fruit and veg either. Tin foil is better than Aldi as well!0

I recommend their walnuts - they always seem fresh. They are by the tills.0

Some use ANPR cameras that time your car parking and its £150 if you are one minute over the trolley dash time.0 -
Not all Lidl stores have everything, or are the same. I was recently in somebody else's and they had vast ranges of food I'd never seen before ... including whole dressed crab in the freezer (I think) ...I was trotting behind somebody on a mission so didn't get to see much.0

If you're a coffee drinker the organic fairtrade instant is very nice.0

There are a couple of things that I can't get from Lidl (or Aldi). The first is loose tea I won't use teabags, the second is the dog food our dog likes lol, also the brand of sausages that I like. Apart from those I do most of my shopping in Lidl and a bit in Aldi.
My hubby likes their thick cut orange marmalade and I love the Sea Salt and Crushed Peppercorn crisps.0 -
Tinned sweetcorn, at 35p a tin, is very good value. Their Deluxe brand items are worth paying the extra for. [/B][/I]0
