Hi. My daughter is obsessed with animals. Does anybody know if there are any pet charities that would let her volunteer? My thinking is she's too young but there's no harm in asking

I suspect she's uninsurable, but fundraising, posters, communications all need doing & then charity staff events may reward her efforts.0

That's what I was thinking.

I think if you're willing to go with her, there MAY be opportunities eg at animal shelters and city farms.
However, I've just found this - although it's not classed as volunteering, there are regular activities at one of our local farms which might tick the boxes for her.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Savvy_Sue - that sounds perfect but we're in Manchester

I hope you are able to find somewhere suitable for her, or find a place which offers the type of activity suggested in Savvy_Sue's post. My son (now 12) has always dreamt of becoming a Vet eventually and I asked around many of our local animal rescue charities for some voluntary work for him, but all of them said volunteers had to be aged 16 or over. Good luck with your search.0

Sheramber - Thank you. I've just filled out the application form for there. If I'm accepted as a volunteer, I can take my daughter along too. Fingers crossed xThe £1,000 emergency fund challenge #163 - £536.16/£10000

I know of a number of dog rescues, who welcome children on dog walks (supervising adult required). They can walk the easy dogs and help with , safely, assessing a dog's reaction to children.0
