Make sure everything that should be done in December is done by mid November at the latest.
Your life will belong to this forum in December. :rotfl:
If you aint crazy now you will be after the Advents

Genuinely intrigued so don't leap on me anyone!
Don't know what sort of thing is on offer so I'm interested... hoping I may still be on maternity leave by December so I can get involved but who knows... :S
We won't leap on ya, don't worry
TBH, on here me, and a lot of my fellow compers usually get rather excited when it gets nearer the 1st of December. Then by the 7th, it goes one of 2 ways.....
Either, you are sick to death of them.....
or.....
You are rather lucky and are upset that they only last until the 24th of December.
The thing is, is that there has been a little bit of a decline in the ones that have really good prizes the last couple of years. Don't get me wrong, a lot are still worth doing, you can win some cracking stuff. But be warned some just have advents that are only discount codes, and some have a prize every 2 days.
Some of the peeps on here take a lot of time and effort to sort them out, post them, let the rest of us know what's what. It does take up time going through each thread and seeing what's what. Making a list (the only time of the year I use Excel) makes it a bit easier to keep track of them.
There used to be some really fun ones as well, like the John Paul Gaultier one a couple of years ago that was hilarious. And, not forgetting the legendary 'Haggis hunt' which didn't happen last year (to much considerable disappointment) but hopefully it will take place this year.
When it gets nearer the time, the list will start to appear, then you can make you mind up if you want to join in

Thanks for the information guys, it sounds fun, although I'll have to see how long I last for!0

I have fallen out with the advents
2 years in a row I have won absolutely nothing from them!0 -
Time consuming and a bit chaotic are how I'd describe advent season.
The biggest nuisance, for me, is that the majority of the prizes were small or just pretend prizes, but you still have to look at the thread every day just to find out what is on offer.
Last year I did, what felt like, a million of them, and won a mascara and a bottle of whiskey, and the whiskey was by accident, because their app was playing up, and telling everyone they were winners lol.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
I've done very poorly the last two years - the previous year I had a win almost every dayproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

OMG BlueBella, that means I only have 123 days untill mini Hall is due..
ohhdeary me! doubt ill manage advents tbh, baby 3 due, 4 kids to buy xmas pressys for aswell as family, house to prep for family visits and babys birth (plus I want a home birth so need things clean for midwives etc..) December is going to be mad this year as usually everything is last minute with me..0 -
Advents over the coming years have become like so many otherthings. Highly over-rated. Although many more comps are available this also means a huge influx of new compers which also means more competition. In general and for the best part theres really no point at all getting excited about advents. I have always managed for the past 3 years to do every single advent comp (dedicating 18hr days) and have only ever won twice from them. This year im not bothering and ill just watch everyone go nuts over them while i relax with my feet up
- enjoy your day 5 shampoos lol. Seriously though, very best of luck to all for the upcoming advents, you`ll need it.

I love the adverts. More competitions mean I can enter competitions to complete my wishlist.0
