well as with the first flowering snow drops means the start of spring the mention of advents means preperation for december.
i saw a conversation of facebook about advents and how to manage them etc even to the point of excitement about all the new comps hitting our thread, now i guess i neeed to kick in the the extra hours in the day or continue to be blase about being mear 2 months away.
anyway lets all enjoy september and october before we panic about the onslaught of december
happy comping!

Only 124 days until the big day so that is only 99 days until the Advents officially begin! As always, I cannot wait!

As a relative newcomer to the mad world of comping... are advents generally worth the excitement?
Genuinely intrigued so don't leap on me anyone!
Don't know what sort of thing is on offer so I'm interested... hoping I may still be on maternity leave by December so I can get involved but who knows... :SLiving thriftilymost of the time

Generally NO they are not worth the excitement.
There has been a significant decline over the last couple of years in the number of moderate to high worth prizes and many now are quite small prizes or just "offers" like free P&P/discounts/recipes/suggestions etc (some of them are ongoing competitions that are just "branded" advents for the time of year so they are not extra competitions).0
