Have a Vax 6131, use it for dry and wet, comes with range of tools, good for car seats etc. Use it around the house too.

Thank you.I saw one today and was thinking about it.it will be exclusively for the car as we don't have any carpets in the house (apart from stairs) and with 3 under 5's want to make sure its going to do the job!

I have a Karcher Wet/Dry Vac. Powerful enough. Doubles up as a wet vac which is a rare use. Washable filter is the bonus- some Karchers need bags which are a PITA.

Only negative is that it has a propensity to fall over on grass or imperfect tarmac.

I have a vax 6131. If you only use it as an upholstery cleaner it will be fine. Changing it from dry to wet use is a real pain, with filters & bags to remove, tank and hose to add.

Some of mine is in the loft, some in the cupboard under the stairs.

After a few dismantling sessions I bought a vax ultra rapide XL, had it for years, it only cleans carpets and upholstery so nothing to swap over, store & lose. As you are never going to clean house carpets it would be a waste of money buying the latest incarnation (best part of £250)

Hi, I posted a deal on the grabbit board about b&q this weekend. One of the offers is a vax hoover washer for £57, if it would be of interest or help.
