Fair Milk Prices...??

The price of milk varies so much in supermarkets .
I am sure in that respect milk is not a product most of use count the cost of down to the nth degree 85p or 79p for the same product .Fact is its the supermarkets that have driven the price down not the consumer .0 -
For all those considering toddling along to Morrisons or Asda to pay an extra 10p per pint for "Fair Milk" why not just buy Organic Milk??
We've done this for the last 3 years as standard. It certainly tastes better but also isn't full of all the anti-biotics that is pumped into the standard milk to ensure your pint isn't filled with pus from an infected udder. And the cows are treated marginally better.
And no, I don't also buy organic meat and veg, unless it's a particular bargain, but having once watched what routinely goes into a pint of economy milk I wouldn't put it anywhere near my cornflakes...
Buying Organic Milk makes the milk farmer happy and me even happier. Win - Win.
If only the REAL world was like this.
I think you need to do a bit of research rather follow the claptrap that supermarkets put out about how wonderful products are.
To me anything with a 'flowery' verb in front of product is suspect to me.The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -

He does those as well at 81p, so slightly cheaper than a 1 pint plastic bottle.Stompa0 -

Actually I just want to say that don’t go with price somehow it is low or high. We have to see it’s health benefits too.0 -
I just find it funny that people have jumped on the media band wagon defending farmers and wanting to pay more for milk. It wasn't long ago people were getting excited when 4 pints were dropping and dropping in the supermarkets. If these people weren't eager for cheap milk in the first place then maybe it might not have got this far to a certain extent.0

Demand has fallen meaning an over supply so the price falls.
The real reason that prices are falling and continue to fall is that the EU has removed production quota's so farmers are producing far more than is need hence a glut hence the fall in prices. Simple really.0 -
After hearing all the publicity about milk production, in the media, I'm sticking strictly to organic. If it costs more, I'll go without something else.
Farms are being set up in several countries including the UK, where the thousands of cows never go outside, only eat processed food, and are milked automatically 3 times each day. What a life! So unnatural.
I want milk from cows which live a normal life!0 -

What do you think happens to organic milk?
I think what you are looking for is Free Range milk!0 -

Just because it is organic doesn't mean the farmers are paid a fair price. Organic feed for the cows will be more expensive so the farmers may find it harder to make a profit.0
