watered down drinks

i really hate how when you buy a drink in places like mcdonalds kfc weather spoons subway or burger king they always water down the coke. they would probably sell far more drinks if they didnt water them down and stopped ripping people off! sometimes it is just water and no coke!

If you have proof then trading standards should be very interested.

Take it back for a refund then. Coke is just syrup and water and if there's not enough syrup tell the manager you aren't happy and you'll get a refund.

That simply sounds like the syrup box has ran out, if its 'just water'. You take it to them and they'll give you another one.

In my yoof I worked at Subway, yes the coke doesnt taste the same as a bottle or can, as its a soda mixed with a big tub of syrup. Costs the company about 5p whereas a bottle/can is a lot more.

I very much doubt its watered down, you're either getting the duff end of a syrup box, or it simply doesn't taste the same even when it is working as intended.

The machines are designed to add concentrate to fizzy water.

The concentrate comes in a valved bag which is fitted into the machines, which should be tested on a regular basis.

By the same minimum wage slaves who have probably incorrectly fitted the bag in the first place......

What irks me is the fact that they the cups with ice and then they put the drink in.

I've started asking for 'no ice' and last week, I was stunned to notice there is now a procedure for this.

The cup is not filled up to the usual mark on the cup, but to a lesser level.

To account for the missing ice.....
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

If its consistent, maybe someone mean has adjusted the dispenser head to change they syrup/water ratio? (If it's a one-off, it's probably just out of syrup).

If they have, tell Coca-Cola! Call their customer line, explain which shop, say your Coke from there always tastes more watery than other shops...they will be plenty keen to maintain their brand and the regional manager will likely pop in and check...and have a word if it's dispensing badly

PS - surprising recipe - cola syrup + ketchup = BBQ sauce.

It's the syrup that has run out in the drinks (as others have mentioned) just tell them and they will replace it for another drink. Having once worked somewhere I use to have to move the boxes of syrup about and connect them to the pipes!

One of my local pubs use to fill the glass mostly with ice, now I especially ask them to not fill it so full with ice and they are happy to that.
