Ok well you don't know my circumstances at all...
My letting agent knows me enough to know I pay my rent on time, let people in to carry out repairs, 3 monthly inspections etc.
I did actually email to say today wasn't suitable but all day Tuesday was absolutely fine...they didn't pick up the email.
There are no skunk farms etc., I work difficult hours and also in the middle of moving business premises, plus I had no time to tidy up (I have some pride!).
I've had to wait 3 weeks to view properties in the past (which I think is very unreasonable, simply because the tenant hasn't got back to the letting agent). Whereas my letting agent gave 24hours and not a second longer before they were going to let theirselves in. To me that's just a poor way to treat tenants. Hardly as though I've been difficult, just a very very busy couple of days for me.
Just to add, I'm not here for judgement on how I run my life, just simply to know my rights.
You acted entirely reasonably. Phone them up explaining this. It's in their interests to have prospective tenants visit the house when your not in bed and have had a wee bit of a tidy up."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
G_M my response was aimed at the comment before yours from Innys 1 regarding skunk farms, your response hadn't been received at that point.
I appreciate your helpful response thank you.0 -

You signed a contract to pay your rent on time - it's nothing to shout about that you're doing it.
Similarly, if repairs weren't done, you, ultimately, would be the loser, not the landlord.
3 month inspections were also, presumably, part of the contract which you signed up to.
No one's judging you, even if you think you are. Similarly, no one asked you to come on here and post your question. If you don't like the answers you're getting, maybe you didn't want advice at all - you just wanted us to agree with you. I'm glad to have disappointed you.0 -
Kinger 101 thank you,
Seems rights as a tenant allow no room for people who work night shifts or work away or have sick family or generally just a very busy life (most families!)....I could give 101 reasons....0 -
Innys you are answering the post which I totally appreciate, but then making rather silly comments when you don't know my circumstances. Referring to paying my rent etc, I'm certainly not expecting a pat on the back, what I am saying is that the agent have no reason to think I'd not get back to them or give them access.
I'm on here because I'm just interested and want to know my rights, or I wouldn't have posted the question...it doesn't mean I have to like the answer, however I wasn't aware I'd offended anyone who was kind enough to reply, I thought I'd just given further information to clarify my circumstances.0
