The telltale flash in the rearview mirror can make many a heart sink as another driver realises they've fallen foul of the dreaded speed cameras.
Responding to a Freedom of Information request from Londonist, Scotland Yard gave details on the number of incidents captured by each speed camera in the Metropolitan Police area.
97,000 instances were recorded from 204 cameras between June 2014 and May 2015
most effective camera on the westbound side of the A1203 Limehouse Link in east London which issued an incredible 17,110 tickets.
Closer towards the centre of London and the camera on Chelsea Embankment by Cheyne Walk in SW3 caught out 4,059 motorists
