Deposit but seperating

I'm buying a house on my name my grandma as gifted me £23,000 and I am contributing £24,000. I am married but things are going due south and can not currently locate my partner. The mortgage is all in my name but my husband transfered 4000 into my account money that is owed me from holiday, in june. My issue is that I used his 4000 towards my deposit but due to money laundering check I feel that they will ask where it's from and as I can't find him I don't know what to do ? We have separate accounts . All the other money is accounted for. I feel so embarrassed, I already know what to do I shall call the lender and let them know do you think I will lose my mortgage now. Signed hopeless romantic. I also plan to ask my bro to make up the other 4000 instead

What was wrong with your previous thread?

Yes, if your brother is prepared to gift the £4000 instead that should solve the problem. But as previously advised, you need to check with your solicitors about their money-laundering requirements (and with your lender that they're happy with funds partly coming from a gift).

You do realise that anything you own at the time of a divorce could be viewed as a matrimonial asset and thus up for grabs by your estranged husband?
