Yesterday I drove around Birmingham and had to park rather quickly at Warmly Ash Road, due to multi mitigating circumstances.

The road signs were high up, the highest one was higher than a single decker bus. There are 3 signs on top of another but the text got smaller as it got higher. I found the road signs confusing. The road layout was different too. One related to an hours parking between times, the one above looked like it could be loading only bay, but was confusing me as it contradicted the other two signs between times and there was a third one in yellow. I had never come across this before and was in a hurry and could not wait long. Besides I have a bad neck and looking up for periods makes me feel ill.

I left the car, for about four minutes, and walked into ward end park.people were acting suspisiously ahead of us and looked at my girlfriend, i followed shortly behind, as we were looking for the toilets urgantly for her. Within a short time my girlfriend had a flair up due to her condition, that can leave her crippled with pain. During the distraction, those people had gone out of sight. I helped my gf carry her things as she needed to hold her sticks and also hold the area where her pain was while walking. By now I was getting pretty desperate too, then I noticed one of people from earlier heading to my girlfriend a some speed, she was heading back to the car slowly and we still needed the toilet. I gathered pace struggling to carry loose things and walked fast. My girlfriend nearly rached the car and I was still about 30m behind at this point getting ready to run, I was sure she was going to be mugged.

She had just reached the car and who ever it was decided not to do anything, perhaps sensing I was not far, or traffic had built up a little.

At this point we could not see that we were given a ticket. We only found out after driving that this unstuck ticket wrapper that was open was dangling in the wind and the ticket had come out and splattered my screen, had been loosly placed and hidden on the screen, almost like it was done in a rush.

I had tried to call parking while we were in the park, but the lines were closed. There was no where else to park legally and safely. I had been totally confused by the sign and had by its height.

Although my gf can struggle to walk and has other issues, we do not have a disabled badge, due to taking wrong advise.

I believe 100 % that I had genuine reasons to park.

The ticket said that i was parked in restricted hours. There were no seperate bays and even a friend who is a parking warden had to seek advice when I asked her.

Where do I stand and is it worth appealing.

This looks to be a council ticket.

If so you need to take this to pepipoo.

But if it's from a private parking company then you need to read the newbies sticky faq thread at the top of the forum to see what you need to do.

Having trouble with phone keypad, I do remember using this once for private parking, thank you for reminding me, i had that ticket canceled. I cannot select where i want to touch my keypad, it remains on top of the screen on here.

Old message, Hi thank you it is council. I have not used this site much and never about parking.

You have used this site previously about parking, but you must forget the advice you got then (it's now changed)

In any case this site is not for your current problem.

As advised, take it to the pepipoo forum.

You need to post up any documents you've received from the council (both sides) otherwise the very busy regulars there are likely to pass your thread by.

But your thread has only been up there for less than 2 hours, you need to be patient, lots of regulars work full time and won't be getting stuck in to the forum until this evening.

Have a look at some other threads there to see the way in which others have introduced their own thread.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

They'll do nothing without a picture of both sides of the PCN - have you added that yet in a reply to bump your question there?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
