Fixtures and Fittings problem

Hi all, wondering if anybody can give any guidance.

We're in the process of selling our house and are on the verge of exchanging with the hope of completing at the back end of next week.

On the fixtures and fittings form we indicated that we would be leaving our washer /dryer as the property we're buying already has one fitted. We didn't ask for any money for it as it's quite old etc.

However, today, with one week to go, the washer / dryer has packed up...........

Legally, what are we committed to do now, given that we've recorded this on the fixtures and fittings form do we have to provide one. I'll be gutted if we have to buy a new one and leave it to our buyers!!

you haven't exchanged yet, inform your solicitor, they'll inform the buyers, that its broken and either you will dispose, or it will be left but is broken.

Agree with G_M, but do inform solicitor as per martinsurrey. You can, of course pick up a working dishwasher from ebay for a pittance, or from freecycle for nowt if you are lucky. You probably won't have to but, even if you do, it's a small price to pay to encourage the sale to go through.
