'Fine' issued by CP Plus

This morning I have received a Charge Notice issued by CP Plus for parking over the 2 hour limited at a MOTO services. The letter has a photo of my car entering the car park and one of my car leaving. There is no picture of my car actually parked.

I need to pay £60 if paid within 14 days or £100 if after that time !!

Before I reluctantly pay this, can anyone confirm that this is legitimate and not some sort of parking scam !

I'm not saying that I didn't park at this MOTO but I'm not sure for how long.

Don't pay it before reading the newbies faq thread near the top of the forum.

If you then decide to fight it, don't admit to them who the driver was.

dont pay anything, the £60/£100 is nothing but a pressure tactic that you appear to have fallen for.
You will pay nothing now, and nothing later. and if your up for it you may even be able to claim/request that any costs you incur are refunded to you by moto.

Keep a log/timesheet detailing how much time you are spending on this, including any research time

  • J2140B, Don't let CP Plus worry you. I have had a number of their fake parking tickets in the past - followed the advice given here and never had to pay them a penny. :) I also have experience of helping a friend who was equally successful in not giving them any money, several times. :):)

Just follow the advice given and enjoy the learning experience.

Bit of an update on my post regarding a parking 'fine' from CP Plus. It was actually my partner that received the notice. He's just got home and when I showed him he said (well I'll keep it clean) but he said that they had photographed him going in during the morning. He then left after only 20 minutes or so. He then went back later during the day, again only for a short while. They photographed him coming out after this second visit it therefore appears that he was there all day !!!!!

My partner works in a prison and has to sign in using fingerprint recognition so he can prove he wasn't parked there all day.

Bearing that in mind what do you think we should do. Should we write stating that facts above.

    its called "double dipping"

appeal it using the template letter and add a note that the car was there twice that day (but DO NOT disclose who was driving)

when you get a popla code , draft an appeal and lodge it with popla to pass it on to the Ombudsman Services

Just a quick update. Sent an email to CP Plus using the template letter and received a letter two days later apologising for the inconvenience and saying that the notice had been cancelled with no further action. Result !!

May be a result for you, but you could help the rest of us if you think this forum is doing a good job.

Could you ask the driver to write back and thank them for cancelling but asking them how their system could have missed the first exit and second entry in the first place?
