I guess BMW marketing reps must have a good expenses limit with which to entertain the motoring press.

So you're a spotty hack on the minimum wage. Which cars do you think you want to be "testing"? Hint: if you keep giving stonking reviews to big expensive German cars, you'll be given more big expensive German cars to "test". A win-win situation!

I had to re-read your post a couple times Sid. I thought you were calling thescouselander a spotty hack, which seemed a bit over the top for what he just said.

I get you now though :rotfl:

Leasing can indeed be cheaper - or more expensive - depending upon the make and model.

Ultimately, as long as the lease deal sees you paying LESS than the depreciation on the car, you've won out. If it costs MORE then it's probably not worth leasing.

I'd always thought leasing was a waste of money until I properly looked into it. Was rather surprised to find that it could be worth considering. Our first lease was for an SLK for £275 per month, only 3 up front payments. Was way way cheaper than any other means of getting the same car.

Have leased a couple of more times since then. Have also bought a few times too - both our cars were bought outright as it just happened to work out cheaper for those makes/models.

So long as you do your calculations (I always have a big spreadsheet!) then you can work out what is the best option for you.
