Bluetooth Speaker problem

I have just bought some bluetooth speakers which sound great playing music from my mobile phone but I mainly bought them to use with my laptop.
I have a Belkin bluetooth adapter which supports A2DP and am running Windows Vista. I have the latest Widcomm Vista drivers installed (from Broadcom). My problem is when I play something I only get sound through the speakers for about 1 second then silence.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
