Sony mp3/Sonic Stage problem

When I connect my Sony NW-s205F to my computer it is recognised by the system by when I load Sonic Stage 4.3 it tells me the connection between the computer and the device is unstable and too remove the device and connect again. I have tried different USB ports but still get the same message. It says to try and delete all tracks on the player via Sonic Stage. There are no tracks on the player at the moment and when I try and do it it comes up with a error message saying tracks could not be deleted. I have tried installing an earlier version on Sonic stage but it tells me that tracks have be transferred using a previous version and must be deleted via sonic Stage to continue. I have formatted the player via the formatting option on the player itself. Anybody any ideas.

I use Sonic stage and it is a nightmare. I would restart your computer ,pull out your modem wire and switch off your firewall and see if it works ok then .So you are not online of course .
Oh and make sure all the wires to the Sony player are pushed in ok

Did you load Sonic Stage from the CD with the player or from the Sony wesbite. I ended up loading from the website. Im found the programme a little tricky to use (how it catalogues tracksa etc) but after a while I can usually tfr to MP3 player OK but not as simply as WMP

One thing to note is that to get full use of the software you have to run it with full administrator rights.

Ahhh sonic stage. I wiped my mp3 player a while back and tried to use sonicstage again to get some tracks back on but had a complete nightmare. Has anyone found a alternative programme that will just let me transfer mp3 files over without trying to navigate sonic stage ?
