Joly, my 12 year old cavalier, was struggling to get up after lying down for a long time just over a year ago, so after trying one of their free sample packs (available from the website or by phone, if the offer is not there), I bought a large pack for working dogs. This comes in larger tubs, has an extra ingredient and works out much cheaper per tablet than smaller packs.

Joly loves his 'treats' and refuses to go out first thing, unless he is desperate, without first having his daily dose. He thinks of the tablets as treats, but he no longer struggles when getting up , rarely hobbles on walks and on the homeward stretch walks faster than he has for years.

First orders (direct) used to have a code enabling you to get 25% off the next order, but I tried mine and it no longer works, but, if you sign for the newsletter you do get 20% off.

Lots of people must have found Yumove beneficial as, by popular demand, they have brought out a version for humans. (I'd try it, if I wasn't on enough tablets already.)
  • I give my pooch Yumove tablets. I think it is difficult to know whether any supplement works, but it can't harm trying. I had tried Pooch & Mutt's mobile bones but it upset his tummy.

I buy my Yumove from Amazon. It's much cheaper than buying direct.

I buy my Yumove from Amazon. It's much cheaper than buying direct.

It's not always cheaper , as the Amazon market price is volatile.

A year ago, I got 480 working dog(which are the same plus an extra ingredient) for £52.49, after the introductory first order 25% discount; much cheaper than Amazon,at the time.

Cheapest on Amazon, today, is 300 for £33.29. The 25% offer would get 480 working dog for £52.49. (equal to 300 for £32.80 ). Only pence cheaper, but they also have the extra ingredient.

I'm not going to continue with the yumove plus when we've finished this box as my dog is getting worse on this than she was on glycoflex.

The vet suggested we try acupuncture so she's booked in this week and we'll try the cartrophen injections, our practice doesn't use it much so we've never been offered it so thank you to the person who mentioned it. I'll get the vets advice though if to wait a couple of weeks so we can judge if the acupuncture is working.

Yumove do say to allow 6 weeks for it to get in the system - if you only started late August then it may need a bit longer. Maybe see if it has any contraindications, if not, it may be worth trying a bit longer just incase.

They also recommend a double dose for at least the first two weeks.

Do you think the extra ingredients makes a difference? I didn't realise there was a working dog one.

Yes I've kept her on the double dose and she's still on half a glycoflex, she's been on glucosamine for over a year now so it's well in her system. I'll finish the box though. I have a real fear of metacam as our other dog had bleeding on it, but think if the cartrophen/acupuncture doesn't work were going to have to try it.

I find the vets very frustrating when it's an on going condition, they are lovely, but we never see the same vet twice. We were never convinced it was arthritis and have seen different vets and taken her to another practice, but they requested her notes and my husband felt they were just repeating what they'd read. Our other problem is as soon as she's in the vets s shes right as rain bouncing round to get out asap! She has got arthritis, but was ok as long as she didn't go on long walks, but she fell off the sofa during the night and I found her in the morning unable to walk, that's not arthritis that got worse overnight it's common sense. They don't want to X-Ray as she is getting on and has a heart murmur. The vet I saw who recommended the acupuncture was the first to say she has very little arthritis in her hips compared to how she's struggling and the problem is the knee and the heart murmur isn't too bad. We will see the same vet each week now as they only have one who does the acupuncture at a different practice so I'm determined to get some answers today.

I haven't noticed any difference, but only had the free sample of 'standard'.

With my free sample came an offer of 25% off any order, so I opted for the working dog, as it was much cheaper than from Amazon etc., at the time.

With Fish4Dogs, their working dog foods are cheaper because they are VAT free and the only difference is the plain plastic packaging, so I rang Lintbells to ask if the working dog, with extra ingredient was suitable for a little old dog, obviously not working.

I was told that the extra ingredient would do no harm, so went for the working dog variety, which is only available direct.

I've been offered another 25% off an order, if I join the Yumega Club, but future orders would only have 10% off. However, even with 25% off , standard is cheaper from Amazon and there is only a saving, from buying working dog, of about 50p on 300 tablets (Working is in 480 tablet tubs) ,though there is the extra ingredient.

I have commented to Lintbells, that I am surprised to see their product cheaper through a third party and their reply was that the third parties get a large discount for bulk buying and Lintbells are not geared to sell large quantities to the public, so their costs and so prices are higher.

I'm probably going to return to standard, from Amazon, as a buying in 300s will mean fresher tablets over all.
