Non Delivery Flooring Superstore.com

We have had a previous order from Flooring Superstore. It was OK, apart from taking 3 weeks longer than usual. Carpet had to be ordered from Cormar.

The second order, was made up of two carpets. Total order £291.45.

When delivery came, only one was delivered. Another delivery date was made for the remaining one. Delivery didn't happen. This was then re arranged again, delivery didn't happen.

Husband has now taken 2 days off work for this and the company are no longer answering emails. The phone number is an 03 or 08 number and we are always on hold 20minutes with no answer.

I just wondered where to go from here? Straight to the credit card company for a section 75?

To answer your question... it depends on what you want to achieve.

How did you place the order? At a distance or by visiting a shop?

What is the relevance of mentioning the phone number prefixes?
Calling an 03 number costs no more than an 01 or 02 number.
Calls to some 08 numbers are free.

It was placed online and we now want the money back as they clearly aren't going to deliver.

Its an 0345 number and 0844. I check with our provider and if we keep calling it mounts up. Especially when you dont speak to anyone!

Then cancel your order under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
There's a whole section in MSE's Consumer Rights Guide about distance sales.

You may have a problem cancelling the order if you have ordered a piece of carpet cut to your specification.

    Then use the 0345 number.

As I said earlier, it will cost you no more than ringing an 01 or 02 number. If you have been told anything else then it is wrong. Of course the cost does not mount up any quicker if you are not talking.

Is that what it would cost you to dial a 01 or 02 number?

I take it no one in your household/friends have a call plan that include calls to landlines? If they do, the calls to the 0344 number would be included in those minutes.

An 0344 number costs no more than any other 03 number.

I think you maybe quoting the price for an 0844 number. Maybe your source is out of date.

Have a read of what Ofcom say about 03 numbers:
Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.

These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone.

Calls to 03 numbers cost the same as calling 01 and 02 numbers and count towards inclusive allowances on landlines and mobiles. If you are paying a per-minute rate for these calls, then you are likely on the wrong call plan. Most people call these numbers as part of an inclusive allowance.

Calls to 084, 087 and 09 numbers incur an Access Charge paid to the benefit of the caller's landline or mobile provider and a Service Charge paid to the benefit of the called party and their telecoms provider. These are premium numbers. The premium is the Service Charge.

The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 came into force on 13 July 2014. Regulation 41 requires retailers, traders and passenger transport companies to use 01, 02, 03 or 080 numbers for post sales helplines, not 084, 087 or 09 numbers. If multiple numbers are offered, make sure you call the cheapest one.
