I am looking to replace a built under gas single oven with a new double oven . I have only ever cooked with gas but I am considering electric as there is more choice .
Any recommendations for a decent make mid priced oven please .

I switched from gas to electric oven some years ago. Now I will only cook on electric.0

I prefer electric to gas for an oven, but a potential issue springs to mind: if the current oven is gas, is there a proper dedicated electrical connection for a cooker?
It may not be the end of the world if there isn't, as many ovens these days can run off a normal 13A socket on a ring main, though double ovens tend to need more than a normal socket can supply.0 -
When I was looking for a new oven a few year ago, Neff was a brand recommended by a few, which I ended up buying. My only regret is that I didn't spend a bit more on the pyrolytic version.0

We also have a Neff oven, which we're very happy with. I've seen mixed reviews of their new models, which have colour display screens and are apparently a bit confusing to control, and there've been supply issues with them. The "Classic Collection" ones with traditional control knobs are still availble though.0

Another vote for Neff - my Neff oven is great.
And the pyrolytic cleaning is great and well worth having IMO - it takes almost no effort to get the oven looking immaculate, and no nasty chemical cleaners involved.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Another vote for Neff. When we moved into the house there was a Neff oven that had been there since the house was built (20 years previous). Sadly it died but we replaced with another Neff and other than changing the bulb in the main oven it's been problem free for 8 years and counting."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

Another Neff fan here too.
Will you need a hob too? If so the induction hobs are great.0 -
My tuppence worth - I would stick to Gas, as the old saying goes, now we're "cooking by gas":)Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190

Recently had our kitchen done and had Belling gas hob and electric built-under double oven fitted - have been impressed with quality of product. Fitter was impressed with the ease of installing, ease of sue, quality of the controls and the finish. They do gas versions of the ovens - single and double.
Also, saved lots of money buying direct from them, although the call centre doesn't accept this - but there us a way in... ;-) The items were held in store until delivered on the date the fitter needed. Just ordered a Lec larder fridge today to be delivered next Wednesday - my choice - and saved £50 over the usual retail outlets.
Belling and Lec are part of the Glen Dimplex Group along with New World, Stoves, etc. We preferred the options available on the Belling range which can be slightly different to the New World range. Also, surprisingly we preferred the look of the Belling over the New World similar model!
Good luck,
John0
