  • Well done. I'm so glad you find mse so helpful. It has certainly been a lifeline for a lot of people.

Keep coming on even if you feel you are on top of it all as it is easy to fall off the wagon. I did cos I didn't come on here for a while and got into bad old habits again, but now I am fully into saving money and paying off debts again. You need a steady dose of mse every day!

And in answer to your question about call barring, yes it is worth getting it, I had it put on our phone and all the annoying calls stopped overnight. Including ones from 'market research companies' who really just want to sell you something!
Even if you have to pay for it, it's worth doing.
Well done on your progress so far! :D

I found, with call barring, that creditors STILL phoned but using different numbers - often only the last digit would be different. I assume that they have several 'live' numbers purely to deal with call barring.

But VERY WELL DONE for dealing with the dreaded MBNA - they were one of my most persistent creditors.

If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

OP is barring 'number withheld' calls not specific numbers though, so will work for her

True - sorry :embarasse . It's just that many of the people ringing me did not withhold their numbers - I would never, even now, answer a 'number withheld' call.
Perhaps 'Caller ID' may be an idea, as well.

Good idea, do you pay extra for this? Would be very useful if its affordable though. :)
