  • each i pod has to be set to manuallly transfer music, that way you get the option to move over individual bits of music. we tend to have folders in i tunes for the differnt ipods in the house, drag the music that each individual wants into that itunes folder then drag that folder into the users own ipod. as to getting rid of all the music off daughters ipod before you start ..just connect it again, set it to manual tranfers and then delete the whole lot off her ipod and start aga

hope this works, we had all sorts of probs getting our ipods synced to begin with but now got settings right seems to work fine.

  • I nearly got rid of my lovely ipod a few months ago, I don't have enough Hard Drive space for all my music, so after transfering it to my ipod, I archived it to DVD.

Next time I connected my ipod to transfer new music, because itunes didn't have the same music on my computer as there was on the ipod, it deleted all the music from the ipod.

As a freeware nut, I thought that there had to be another solution, and found a little program called Sharepod (after trying loads of others)!

It transfers to and from my ipod with out booting up itunes, and is simple and fast to use. I know I sound like im selling it, but it's completely free in money and clean in adware terms, and works really well.

I still have itunes, for podcasts and the itunes store, and you need it on your comp at least to start with, to help share pod to connect to your ipod, but after that, you can uninstall itunes if you want:D .

Just Google Sharepod, its at sturm dot net dot nz.
