Motorhome hire insurance Excess and waiver?

The standard excess payable under the policy is £1250.00. Hirers may be eligible to purchase Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) to reduce the insurance policy excess to £120.00. If CDW is taken it is also a requirement to pay a refundable security bond of £120.00 deposit OR if CDW is not taken a £1250.00 refundable security bond will be required to be paid.

Can somebody please confirm if i understand correctly as i'm french and not sure about this at all.
so i understand i have to pay :
£1250 up front as a deposit to hire the motorhome and if nothing happen they will refund all my money
or £120+£120 up front and if nothing happen i only have £120 back so i loose £120

and if something happen
in the 1st case i loose £1250
and 2nd case i only loose £240

is this correct?
many thanks
regards

It looks correct with regard to the "1st case"

Regarding the 2nd case though, your post is not clear.

You would pay whatever the CDW premium is up front (is the CDW premium £120?) and if something happens you then "lose" the £120 deposit.
  • the 1st paragraph i copied it from their terms and conditions
so yes it wasn't clear for me either...
    thank you for responding
