Blocked sink/washing machine pipe

Hi,
Recently as I was using my washing machine, water starting leaking over the floor.. At first I thought it was the washer however it turned out water from the machine was being thrown back out of the main kitchen pipe at the back. At the same time my sink has also blocked and I am currently unable to use either. I have checked all accessible pipes etc however no issues, also tried sink unblocked, this has not helped.
Anybody heard of this before?

You may have a spur that is not blocked off properly. Have you checked the U-bend for a blockage.0

Yes, there is no block on either the u-bend under the sick or in the pipes connecting the washing machine to the main pipe in the kitchen... Is puzzling me!0
-
Sounds like the block is further down. Time to call a plumber with a snake or if neighbors have one.0

Had this years ago and I had to lift the access cover for the drain (fortunately just outside kitchen window) and remove years of gunged up soap powder from the pipe.0

You just have to follow the pipe, the problem will usually be at a bend. Most waste pipes just pull apart so it's fairly simple. Unless you live on the 15th floor & it goes outside.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0
