2nd toilet in rented property broken.

We moved into a property may, since the our bathroom has leaked, the upstairs toilet has leaked and been fixed. But our downstairs toilet packed in 3 weeks ago! We had a plumber out who said the system will need replacing and has sent the quote to a letting agent who will pass it on to the landlord, we chose this house as it had two toilets and we have a chrones sufferer, and a child waiting to be diagnosed! When partner and child both having a bad day it is unbearable! Has resulted in accidents.
My other child has resorted to peeing in a bucket (all good and well when the toilet is taken but he is 5 and has very bad aim!)
My question is, anything we can do to push the landlord in this time to hurry and get it sorted? We pay full rent on a 3 bed 2 bath property?? But the downstairs lav is unusable? And with one child yet diagnosed should my washing bill has flown up as sometimes cannot make it to the loo in time? feeling frustrated and getting nowhere with the letting agent!

well, have you yet written to the landlord formally, at the proper address (provided in writing to you)?
If no, do so. Send it first class, and request a date by when he expects the repair to be completed0 -
I did this to the letting agent last week as the landlord lives abroad and everything is dealt with through them. I've also e-mailed daily to no avail!1% challenge £2015.50 = £20.16

All I know is the toilet is a toilet lol and thank you G_M but we are classed as having one working toilet, so the council cannot help pressuring him into fixing it!1% challenge £2015.50 = £20.16

Which, if it is a mincer, is probably the cause of the problem.frooglefraggle wrote: »All I know is the toilet is a toilet lol
Unless by "system" you meant "cistern"?0 -
Could you not replace the system yourself and then bill the landlord?0
