Am I the only one not claiming PPI?

I had PPI with my first loan with HSBC back in 2002, about 3 months after a large number of redundancies. So I opted for it at the time. I do remember it was well explained, conditions, exclusions etc, and I read the contract a couple of times before deciding to go with it.
When I took a second loan out in 2005, I didn't go for it as I didn't believe it was worth it.
I don't mean to sound "Oh look, I read the print", not meant like that - really it's "luck" as I'm a bit OCD when it comes to reading paperwork before signing it.
I doubt my case would have been eligible, and the area I think they were most pushing their luck was the "you can't get a loan unless you also sign up to X" ones.
I note I've had no calls, a couple of texts is all (and they're more likely to be speculative - I had a new provider & number after 2008).

Hi
Up until about 3 weeks ago & I'd have said No we'd not had PPI so nothing to reclaim. Since me & my husband have been together (married approx 15 years) we've never had PPI on any financial products we've taken out as we've always said No as not necessary.
However 3 weeks ago I was clearing out some very old paperwork & I found some old credit card statements for the credit card my husband had before he met me and on those statements is cardholder payment protector I.e. PPI.
I am now considering whether he has a claim for mis selling. He can't remember the meeting when the credit card was set up as we're going back over 20 years. However he was in a secure job with a good company when he took the credit card out. He paid the card off every month as well so he didn't spend beyond his means either.
If my husband had thought about it he would have said No & as such I'm curious to see the agreement to see if he was missold.

Are phone calls completely speculative or do the claims firms have some information on people? I have 2 credit cards and have never had calls about PPI even though I get them about everything else. My first card was taken out in the early/mid 70s and the second in 2011. Neither time did the subject of PPI come up - too early and too late? It's as they know I wouldn't have it.
It's completely speculative.
Even though I've never, ever had PPI, I've had phone calls inviting me to 'claim'.
These companies have no way of getting information about you - but if they make enough random calls they'll score a hit.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I wish someone would set up a fund to compensate me for all the nuisance calls I receive telling me I can "reclaim PPI". I still get them even 'though I am registered with Telephone Preference Service. They are driving me mad.0
