I would call the airline for advice on this to be absolutely sure.

Rule of thumb in the industry is if a name is hyphenated, it should be shown as Katielouise as most airline booking systems don't support hyphens between names. If there's a clear space between the names Katie would be absolutely fine. This does vary between different airlines, so, if were me, I'd call the airline to err on the side of caution and take the name of you speak to along with the time and date of the conversation and the number you called.

Who are you flying with? Some airlines (Ryanair and easyJet come to mind) would probably correct the error without charge if you call them. Most likely you will have no problems but all it takes is one overzealous gate agent.
  • Is her first name Katie-Louise or is Louise her middle name. If it is Ryan air, Easyjet, phone to check..depends how her name is shown on her passport. Good Luck

As the OP (hopefully!) flew 2 weeks ago luck doesn't come into it now.
