TSB monthly saver standing order help

Hi all

I've just opened a TSB Monthly Saver and am finding the internet banking offering rather poor. There was an option on the screen called 'start saving now' once I'd opened the account, which I assumed I'd click on and they'd ask for the standing order amount, but it wasn't clickable and I can't see any way at all to set up the standing order. Do I need to phone them? Can anyone help?

You need to set up a Standing Order to the sort code and account number of your TSB Monthly Saver.

In online banking: Make a payment - Set up a standing order - Company or person [then fill in your details, using one of your TSB current accounts as the sending account.]

Only God, TSB and Lloyds know why it is not easier to set up. It does work perfectly though if you set up an SO as above.

The standing order can also be paid from any other current account. I doesn't have to be a TSB account.

Thanks. But try as I might I have scrutinised the IB page and I can't see the 'make a payment' option. Can you direct me to it? I'm sorry to sound so stupid, I have a number of other banks on IB and mobile and don't have this issue with any of them!

A Standing Order is a 'push' instruction to send money from somewhere to somewhere else - therefore you must set up the SO in the donor account to push the money to TSB.

Thanks yes I know that's the case, but I can't see where the link for it is. I've looked both on the 'my accounts' page and also within the Classic Plus account. I think I'll set it up from elsewhere actually but it's annoying me now that I can't see how I'd set it up, if I did want to send it from the CP account.

On the opening screen that's headed 'Your accounts', slightly below and to the right of the name of your current account is a link to 'Set up a standing order'.

Thank you. But that's not there on mine. All I have is a link for 'view a mini statement' underneath the account name and s/c and a/c no. Further to the right is a link for 'view latest statement', but nothing for setting up standing orders.

That's strange. How about you click on your current account so that you are looking at your recent transactions, then part-way down the screen there is a horizontal strip with links for "Statement", "UK and international payments", "Direct debits and standing orders", "Summary" and "Account benefits". Click on "direct debits and standing orders" and on the next screen, to the right of the heading "Standing orders" is a blue button labeled "Set up standing order.

You might not have finished setting up online banking. When I first registered I couldn't complete any transfers as I had to enter a security code.
