Advice needed please - honesty over accident

I had a limo run into the back of me some years back on the slip road at Gatwick, causing very slight damage. He was very pleasant and offered £100, which I accepted. I never had the repair done as it was an old car. However, if he had been unpleasant in any way I would have gone through insurance and had the work done properly. I didn't inform the insurance company.

I would pay up, get a proper "full and final receipt" and, although not legally correct, I wouldn't inform the insurance company.
