Callcredit showing status as "default" when I settled 5 years ago!

I missed payments on a Halifax credit card in 2010, about 6 in total, the debt I owed was £2700 and I partially settled with a lump sum in July 2010- however the "status" of this account is still showing up as "default" on creditcall and the account balance says £583??! The last status on there is August 2010 which says "df" and after this it just has dashes meaning "no info available".
I really hope this makes sense! Why has the account not been updated? On my equifax report the account is showing as "satisfied" as it should be!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

  • Any default will show as a default every month until it drops off your file. If it's settled then they're not new defaults, only the first one counts.
  • Thanks for replying- I have another small default on there that i also paid off and that says "satisfied", shouldn't this one say "satisfied" or at least "partially satisfied/settled"?

Should say somewhere that it is satisfied or partially satisfied.

The "default balance" stays at what was originally owed when it was defaulted, but the the current "balance" should be £0 or otherwise indicating that nothing is owed now.

  • Okay so I'm guessing I need to contact Halifax to tell callcredit that I no longer owe this money?
  • You might need to ask Call Credit to do this- not all CRA's are as good as each other, I had a settled default that wasn't showing on Experian so I had to ring them and ask them to put it on.
  • Okay I've spoken to Halifax but I'll speak to callcredit aswell, thank you!
