Agree with above sentiments, but may ask do you have shower atm, if you have mixer one at the moh you will be awfully disappointed by and electric one.

Also works out considerably more expensive than a gas heated mixer type. I was surprised just how much our electricity usage went down when we removed ours and just used the hot water cylinder, our gas usage didn't go up that much and went down again when changing to a combi boiler.

  • I much prefer the mixer shower to electric; that is until the boiler packed up so no shower at all. If you only have one shower in the house then it is something worth considering. At least with electric you retain washing facilities even without the boiler being functional.

If you have two bathrooms have the mixer in your preferred bathroom and electric in the other to provide backup.

Op_ if u want piece of mind, ask an electrician to do so ie tests to confirm any electrical problems. Agree upfront cost of test and some may give u discount on full rewire if it's needed and they have done tests
