Parking sensors on Vauxhall car

Hi, can someone help me please. I have a meriva with parking sensors front & rear,. They have worked fine until now when somehow or other they have been turned off.
I have read the book but it is very confusing, something about being within 7mph -16mph and pressing only once when ignition is on etc etc but nowhere does it say how to actually put them back on again.
please help

yes, the meriva also has a button on the dash but somehow it has got overridden and we can't figure out how to reactivate it.

Oh, if they are dead and not responding to the console button, then first course of action is to check the fuse. I had a look at a couple of manuals for different versions and online didn't come across a permanent off option, but there are different versions.

Hi, no it's definitely got power as the light is on the button until I turn on engine then it goes out as it's been somehow disabled. The disabled parking sensor light comes up in the panel to tell me this. What I need to know and can't fathom from the handbook, is how we managed to switch it off and how the heck do we get it back on again

On my car, if you select reverse gear, the parking sensors are turned on. Maybe the sensor in gear box is faulty??
